Graveside services for Johnnie Nell Rudd, 74, of Bangs, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 29 at the Bangs Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Heartland Funeral Home.
She died Wednesday, July 26, 2017 in Abilene.
She was born on Nov. 25, 1942 in Fort Worth to Johnny and Bernell McDaniels Williams, and had been a resident of this area for the past 35 years moving here from Slaton. During her working career, she was a bookkeeper, jailer/dispatcher, housekeeping supervisor at Brownwood Regional and a housekeeping supervisor at the 4-H Center when she retired. Even after retirement, she returned back to work and was employed by the Early City Hall for several years. She enjoyed anything that her grandsons were involved in such as sports and theater.
Survivors include her son, Joe Rudd and wife Cindy; daughter, Dawn Rudd Phelps; grandsons, Colton and Chase Phelps, and Joseph and Matthew Rudd; brothers, Billy Williams and wife Linda, and Gary Williams and wife Phyllis; sisters, Brenda Deason and husband Lonnie and Shirley Williams; sisters-in-law Pansy Rudd, Nelda Rudd and Delene Perry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her ex-husband and friend Bennie Rudd; nephews, Jimmy Dale Williams, Cody Deason and Vance Rudd; and brothers-in-law, Deal Rudd and Charles Rudd.
