EARLY -- Funeral services for Ann Gober, 70, of Early, will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21 in the Calvary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Mrs. Gober passed away Wednesday at her home. She was born in Swenson, Texas, to Eric and Lola White Ward. After living in Carlsbad, N. M., and San Angelo, Texas, she moved to Brownwood to continue her advancement with GTE. Ann and Ken Gober were married in Brownwood, Texas, on May 25, 1974. Ann retired from GTE after 32 years of service with the company. She and Ken became successful business partners with multiple businesses in the Brownwood area. She was a respected member of the American Business Women’s Association. Ann and Ken have been longtime members of the Calvary Baptist Church in Brownwood. Mrs. Gober was preceded in death by her grandson, Ronnie Cartwright; her parents, Eric and Lola White Ward; two brothers, James and Bill Ward; and her sister, Aileen Lyle. She is survived by her husband, Ken Gober of Early; daughter, Toni Cartwright of Brownwood; son, Larry Scott and wife, Debra, of Blanket; son, Doug Scott of Blanket; daughter, Susan Rumfield and husband, Steve, of Early; sons, Kirk and Kent Gober of Brownwood. She is survived by 13 grandchildren: Royce Cartwright, Laura Goodall and husband, Russ, Lindsey Scott, Keisha Daniels and her husband, Joe, Kendal Gober, Micki Roach, Megan Elaine Scott, Leslie Rumfield, Chelsea Scott, Stevi Rumfield, Kellie Scott, Kelsey Gober and Joey Gober. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren:Austen Cartwright,Jason Cartwright,Hailee Cartwright,Ariana Cartwright, Alyce Goodall, Britney Daniels and Cameron Goodall. She also has a sister, Margaret Jones and her husband, Troy, of Lubbock and a brother, W. P. Ward and his wife, Joker, of Denver City, Texas, and a number of nieces and nephews.
