Aron Wayne Goolsby, 66, of Lake Brownwood left his earthly body behind and joined his dad in heaven on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 surrounded by his family. A celebration of Aron’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, June 17, 2019, at Davis Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jim Looby officiating. Burial will follow in the Eastlawn Memorial Cemetery. Davis Morris is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be held on from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., Sunday, June 16, 2019, at the funeral home. Aron was born on July 17, 1952, in Big Spring, Texas to Glen Wayne Goolsby and Betty Jean (Hamilton) Goolsby. He attended school in Big Spring until he was 16 years old. The family moved to Lake Brownwood in October of 1968. Aron graduated from Brownwood High School in 1970. When Aron’s family moved to the lake, he met the love of his life, Barbara Green. They were later married on June 8, 1974, in Brownwood. They made their home at Lake Brownwood. In 1978 they welcomed their first daughter Brittany, and then in 1982 they welcomed their second daughter Tessa. He had a passion for building things and went on to become a master carpenter. Alongside his brother Terry, they started Goolsby Bros. Construction. Aron and Terry built many beautiful homes in and around Brown County until Aron’s car accident on September 12, 2015. Music was something that he always loved and he was notorious for quoting lyrics quite often to his wife, kids and grandchildren. In his younger years, Aron loved to water ski, tube, play volleyball and have gatherings with friends and family at their home. His grand kids were his life and as each came along he devoted his life to them. Aron is survived by his mother, Betty Burcham of Brownwood; his wife of 45 years, Barbara Goolsby of Lake Brownwood; daughters, Brittany Craddock and Troy of Early, Tessa Knickerbocker and Ryan of Ballinger; grandchildren, Isabela Perez and Jaime of San Angelo, Seth Crawford of Lake Brownwood, Avery Knickerbocker of Ballinger, Drew Knickerbocker of Ballinger and Eryn Craddock of Early; brother, Terry Goolsby and Donna of Lake Brownwood; sisters, Dian Green and Jerry of Bangs, and Cherri Harris of Maui, Hawaii; nieces, Jennifer Dodd and Jimmy of Pflugerville, Angie Moore of Lake Brownwood, Madison Green of Bangs; nephews, Erik Plew and Michelle of Pflugerville and Quade Harris of Salado; great nieces, Vanessa Goolsby and Kaeli Goolsby of Lake Brownwood, Lacy Dodd of Pflugerville, and Joey Ammons of Bangs; great nephew, Cody Dodd and Aislinn of Pflugerville and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his dad, Glen Goolsby; grandparents, Aron and Tressie Goolsby, and Treat and Gladys Hamilton.
