EARLY -- Services for Louise Burk Porter, 82, of Temple, and formerly of Blanket were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2003 at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church in Blanket with Clint Tunnell officiating. Burial was in the Eastlawn Cemetery Park in Early under the direction of the Heartland Funeral Home. Mrs. Porter died Wednesday, March 26, 2003 in Temple. She was born in Brady March 27, 1920 to the late Jesse and Clara Pennington Burk. She married Charles “Pinky” Porter Aug. 19, 1939 in Brady. She was a homemaker and a member of the Rist United Methodist Church in Blanket. She was a Worthy Matron in the Order of Eastern Star and a W.S.C.S. member. She was a resident of Temple for the past three years. Survivors include her husband, Charles “Pinky” Porter of Temple; a son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Janice Porter of Troy; three daughters, Martha Elizabeth Mauldin and husband David of Tomball, Colleen Louise Davis and husband C.F. of Fayettville, N.C., and Laura Ruth Leatherwood and husband Jim of Dublin; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
