Funeral Services for Frank C. Vana, Jr.,
age 76, of May, Texas will be held 2:00 PM Monday, July 18, 2016 at
Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Curtis Schneider officiating.
Interment with military honors will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 PM Sundy at
Heartland Funeral Home. Mr. Vana passed away Sunday, July 11, 2016 in
the Comanche County Medical Center.
Frank Charles Vana, Jr. was
born July 2, 1940 at Omaha, Nebraska the youngest child of Frank C.
and Maryellen Whetstone Vana. After graduating from Technical High
School in 1958, Frank joined the United States Army on August 1, 1962
and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army Reserves with the
rank of staff sergeant on August 1, 1968. Frank was baptized and
confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Omaha, Nebraska. On, August 31,
1979 he married E. Jean Vana in Corpus Christ, Texas and they were
members of Grace Lutheran Church in Brownwood. Frank had a wide
variety of career opportunities from craft to management over a 50
year span. They consisted of tool room machinist, carpenter,
millwright, telephone craftsman, telephone manager, punch press job
shop manager, independent contractor, and home builder.
Survivors
include his wife Jean Vana of May; sons Timothy L. and wife Terry of
Pittsburg, Texas and John T. and wife Patricia of Brawley, California
and their sons Christian Alan of Oak Harbor, Washington, Avery Thomas
and Noah Brendan of Brawley, CA. He is also survived by many nieces
and nephews and their children and great grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his parents, sisters Della Mae and Rose Marie
and his brothers Leo , Ralph, William, Richard, Raymond, George, and
Samuel.
