Graveside services for Vida Jo Spurlock, 79, of Brownwood, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at Indian Creek Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Pieprzyca officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Netherton Funeral Home. She passed away Monday, March 19, 2007, at her residence. Vida was born April 21, 1927, in Abilene, Texas, the daughter of Lemuel and Verde Walser. They preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of New Life Assembly of God Church. Vida married Norman Spurlock in Glendale, Ariz., on Nov. 22, 1974. Survivors include her husband, Norman Spurlock of Brownwood; son, Doug Spurlock of Lamesa; sister, Olive Virginia of Branson, Mo.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and twin sons, William Gilbert and Willard Delbert.
