Funeral services for Emma Inez Donahoo Shults, 85, of Brownwood, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at the Austin Avenue Church of Christ with Ted Kell, Bo Shero and Donnie Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in the May Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening, January 15, 2003. Mrs. Shults died Monday, January 13, 2003, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Emma was born on July 10, 1917, in the community of Milburn in San Saba County to Robert L. Donahoo and Matilda Virginia Freeman. She attended school at Elm Grove. Emma married Guy Remington Shults on January 1, 1941, in Brownwood. Emma retired from Winn Pharmacy where she had worked for 23 years and was a member of the American Business Women’s Association. She was a member of Austin Avenue Church of Christ for 27 years, but has attended Early Church of Christ for the last eight years with her son and family. Emma was loved by everyone who knew her. She was a devoted Christian, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and especially great-grandmother to Shaunna Kay Pinson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her eight siblings: Wilmer Donahoo, Newell Donahoo, Annie Chamberlain, Mary Wyatt, Ruby Donahoo, Myrtle Hudson, Earl Donahoo and Robert Donahoo, Jr. Emma is survived by her son, Guy R. Shults and daughter-in law, Debbie Shults of Brownwood; two grandchildren, Jenny Pinson of Early and Shaun and wife, Molly Shults, of Brownwood; and one great-granddaughter, Shaunna Kay Pinson of Early.
